Oct. 19th

Today was Take Me Outside Day! We started the morning with a singalong all about different animals that we might find outside like caribou, beaver, and fish. In the afternoon we enjoyed one of the last warm days of fall by going outside to do buddy reading!

We explored our classroom to find objects that were magnetic or non magnetic. Then we drew a picture and labelled them in our visual journal.

Dear Families,

Next week is Literacy Week! There are a few spirit days next week to help us celebrate and get in the literacy spirit.

    • Read my Shirt Day – October 24th

Your student can wear a shirt that has words on it for others to read!

    • Teacher Swap Book Reading – October 25th

Teachers will travel to a different classroom to read a story to a different class.

    • Whole School Read Out – October 26th

Everyone in the whole school will go out to the field, pick a spot and read outside.

    • Stop Drop and Read Day – October 27th

Several times during this day the students will hear an announcement to stop, drop and read.

We hope these spirit days will get everyone get even more excited about Literacy at Northern Lights School!
