Grade 2's have become so focused during math time! They are showing that they are getting ready for grade 3! Today we explored what equal and unequal means. We sorted equations using equal and unequal.

One way to explore equality is to use pan balances. Some of us discovered that one hexagon is equal to ten counters. We are excited to use the balances again next week!

In music we played a song using boomwhackers! It was so much fun!

Once again foiled by technology. Apologies for not being able to post pictures. When exploring odd and even we read the book "Even Steven and Odd Todd." We used the book for inspiration and created our own Even Steven and Odd Todd pages where everything had to be odd or even. Ask me what my page looked like.

Today we watched a video about farming in Saskatchewan. After watching we recorded what we saw, what it made us think about, and what we wondered. Ask me what my wonder was.

Soon we are going to start researching about different animals who live in Canada. Today we started by researching Narwhal's as a whole class. Together we are reading a book and deciding on what the important information is that we should write down in jot notes. We are trying to put it in our own words.

We are reviewing even and odd numbers. Even numbers can be divided/shared equally (in two) while odd numbers have a part left over. Ask me to tell you which numbers are odd and even within 100.

In music we started boomwhackers! Ask me what they are!

I am continuing to have trouble uploading so sorry! I am hoping it will be resolved soon! Next week is Environmental Week. All week long we are encouraging Litterless Lunches! Today we looked at our lunches and snacks and our class had 55 pieces of garbage. Our goal is to have less next week. Also It is Walk and Wheelie Week. We are encouraging families as much as possible to use a different set of wheels or feet that is not a car to get to school. As a class we will be tracking how students got to school to see all of the different ways.

Today we started an art project inspired by Ted Harrison. Ask me about mine!
