Dec. 22

Today in Science we learned about heat conduction by doing an experiment about which material would conduct heat the fastest: wood, metal or plastic.

Dec. 21st

 Today we sketched some of the items the Grammy Stewart brought us from Nova Scotia. We did a fantastic job at noticing the small details.









In Science we did an experiment to see what would happen when we put straws with liquid in hot and cold water. One went up and one went down just like thermometer.

We had a special guest all the way from Nova Scotia! Her name was Grammy Stewart and she told us all about Nova Scotia. She even brought us cool artifacts from Nova Scotia. We will bring them home soon, but for now take a look at the pictures below. Ask me what I learned about Nova Scotia.

Dec. 19th

In math we played Race to 100. The goal was to be the first to add to 100. When it was your turn you rolled a ten sided die and added the amount to the total that we already add.




In Science we are exploring Hot and Cold Temperatures. Today we did an experiment to see if blubber could keep us warm!

Dec. 15th

 Today we listened to an Acadian song. The Acadians live in Nova Scotia. After listening to the song we wrote and drew about how the music made us feel and what instruments we heard. 



As a class we brainstormed what we know and what we wonder about hot and cold temperatures. 


In gym we played Snowball Battle where we had to hide from dodge balls.

Dec. 14th

Today we spread some kindness and shared some light by making thank you cards for everyone who works in the office. Each of us drew a winter scene and wrote a note thanking them for their hard work!





Today in math we learned about bar graphs! Bar graphs show the data that you collect. Today we rolled dice and recorded the number rolled. We used that data to create a bar graph about the numbers that we rolled.

Dec. 13th

On Festive Sock Day we collected data about our classmates using the question we created yesterday. We used tally marks to record our information. Ask me what I learned about my classmates.





Today we practiced researching and recording what we have learned about the Mi'kmaq who live in Nova Scotia. We learned about their food, clothing, music and a lot more.

 I can't believe it is the last day of school! I hope everyone has a fantastic summer! We had fun playing board games today.
