Today we learned some other ways to spell the long a sound.  

To get back in the swing of math we brainstormed as many subtraction equations as we could that had the difference of 20.

March 19th

In our visual journals we created an all I know about light page. 

Today we explored subtracting using the standard algorithm and representing our thinking using base ten blocks.

We explored when the letters e a r together make the ear sound. Then we compared e a r words the make the air or ear sound.

Today we continued exploring light using centres about light and water, prisms, and different materials.

March 17th

In Gym we started floor curling!

Today we had many activities connected to St.Patrick's day and our attempt to catch a leprechaun. We had to clean up the mess that the leprechaun made, we wrote about what the leprechaun did and how we would improve our trap for next year, drew a leprechaun, and did some addition and subtraction word problems.

We are continuing our hard work publishing our non fiction books all about polar bears. 

In preparation for building our leprechaun traps tomorrow, we wrote about what we are going to use to build our traps and how they are going to work.
