June 23rd

 The year has flown by and I can't believe that we are in are last week. This year has been full of learning and memories. I will miss everyone and hope that everyone has an amazing summer! We have a busy last week of school. Below are some final reminders!

-Play Day is Wednesday June 25th. Please dress for the weather and bring a water bottle

-On Play Day we are providing Freezies. PARENTS THAT DO NOT WANT THEIR CHILD TO HAVE ONE MUST EMAIL me at adpenonzek@cbe.ab.ca and can send an alternative treat for their child to enjoy that day. 

-Last day of school is June 26th and it ends at 1:05. We will be having a PJ/Movie/Board Game Celebration. If a student has a favourite board game that they would like to bring to school to play they can bring it on Thursday! As well they may wear their PJs to school.

June 18th

In Gym are having so much fun doing Mario Kart this week!

Today we practiced describing 3D Shapes using their attributes such as faces, edges, and vertices,

June 16th

Today was Imagination Day! To Start of the day we got to choose a writing prompt that made us use our imagination. Some of us chose to write with a partner and some wrote alone. There was so much creativity! Ask me what I wrote about!

For Imagination Workout we were given different lines and had to use our imagination to use it in a drawing!

June 12th

 Today we continued exploring 2D shapes. We learned about slides, flips, and turns, 

We also played a came were we created a design and then had to describe our design to our partner, who built the design from our instructions. 

We practiced using contractions to write sentences. 

 Reminders:

We are having Imagination Day, but it will be on Monday, June 16th.

Students can use their imagination and be ANYTHING. 

In the past, students have used their imagination and combined all Spirit Days in ONE, they have imagined that it is PJ Day, they have imagined that it is Creative Hair Day, they have imagined that it is their Birthday and some kids even imagined that it was Halloween again!

June 9th

 

Today we learned about contractions. Contractions are compound words where some letters are replaced by an apostrophe. We sorted some contractions that contained not, have, will, or is. 

Over the last few days we have been working on sorting shapes based on different attributes such as corners, number of sides, and equal sides. Today we tried to sort by two different attributes.

June 3rd

Today we played Goof Ball with Mrs. Maguire's class. We had lots of fun playing a new game outside. 

We wrote a poem about a week in our life. We had to identify the nouns, verbs, and adjectives in our sentences.

June 2nd

Today we used the maker space materials to build different landforms that we have been learning about. Check out our creativity!

In Math we are starting 2D and 3D shapes. First we brainstormed everything we knew about shapes!

Then we used our knowledge to answer these questions!
