Dec.15th

 Today was a finish up kind of day. One thing we finished were our value snowman where we practiced adding white and black to different colours. 

We are also in the process of making cards for seniors in our community. Take a look at what we have so far!

-Winter Wear Wednesday: wear festive wear if you would like

-PJ Day Friday and Board Game Friday! If you would like to bring a game from home feel free!

-Last day of school before Winter Break is Friday

-Today a letter was sent home about gingerbread tasting. The form MUST come back in order for students to have a taste on Thursday. Look for the letter in backpacks today!

Dec. 11th

 Here is a look at some of our learning over the last few days. 

We created place value robots and represented the number in a variety of ways including base ten blocks, words, expanded form, and number line. 

We read a story called The Wish Tree. At school we have a wish tree. Each student decorated an ornament with their wish for the world and hung them on the tree. Ask me what my wish was!

We explored even and odd numbers. Ask me to explain how I know if a number is even or odd. 

Dec. 8th

 Today we started talking about conjunctions and how we can use them in our writing. Some examples are and, or, and but. 

This week here are the words that we are working on. Our focus is on long o vowel teams. 

Today we continued to practice representing three digit numbers using base ten blocks in more than one way. 

In gym we are working on our skipping skills!

In Social Studies we have been exploring the different regions of Canada. We are learning about the physical features of each region and what provinces and territories are included in each region.

Dec. 4th

Over the last few days we have been busy representing three digit numbers in a variety of ways. One way that we worked on today was representing using base ten blocks in two different ways. 

We also represented numbers using expanded form. Such as 365 would be 300+60+5.

This week we have been focusing on adjectives, what they are and how to use them in our writing. !

 

Dec. 1st

Part of this blog are from last week that didn't get posted. We continue exploring verbs by brainstorming our own ideas and acting out verbs for our classmates to guess. 

We practiced placing numbers on number lines that went up to 1000. 

This week we are focusing on long e vowel teams in word work such as ee, ea, and ey. In writing we are working on writing friendly letters. 

We learned a new game called Junk Its. Ask me how to play.

In Math we are learning how to represent numbers with words. We had to find different numbers in base ten form around the classroom and write the number in words.
